You
may join the National Multifamily Speakers Alliance as
a Professional Speaker, Corporate Trainer or Professional Consultant.
You may also join the NMSA as an “Apprentice”. This allows
you to attend meetings, workshops and forum events and qualifies you
to participate in our Mentor Program which will give you the time to
build the skills and experience necessary to qualify for full membership.
Applications and instructions may be downloaded below. Once you have
downloaded your packet, please complete all membership qualifications
and contract agreements and mail the supporting documents along with
the application fee of $149.00 in a check made out to: National
Multifamily Speaker Alliance to 4945 West 8th Street, Greeley, Colorado 80634.
Once your membership is approved, a $99.00
Annual Membership Fee will be due upon acceptance of your membership.
We will then include your
photo and information in our membership listings at MultiFamilySpeakers.com.
Only our “Professional” members including Speakers and
Consultants will be listed in our public Membership listings for industry
meeting
planners and management firms looking for a industry professionals.
The first 50 members will receive a special recognition as a Charter

- To qualify as a professional multifamily speaker
you must have received compensation for 12 presentations within a complete
calendar
year.
- A presentation is defined as a professional multifamily
educational program with 10 or more attendees, presented live, on-line
webinar, teleconference
or consultation training in which you are the lead instructor.
- Verification documentation may include any of the following:
contracts, speaker agreements, client reference letters or documents
generated as a result of your speaking engagement, with a minimum of
10 letters of recommendation from meeting planners, managers, regional
managers, or company executives with reference to your presentation
skills or copies of event evaluations. No documentation will
be accepted that includes any information relating to cost, fees and
details of
financial agreements or compensation. This information must
be omitted prior to submission.

- To qualify as a professional consultant you must have
worked a minimum of 30 hours per month or not less than 360 hours within
the last 12 months on a project or projects in the multifamily industry.
- A project is defined as working with a multifamily
organization to improve their overall performance in the industry.
- Verifying documentation may include any of the
following: scope of work, description of assignment, documents generated
as a result of the assignment (results).
- As a part of this application you must submit 10 letters
of recommendation - 5 from industry consultancy projects (If you only
had one contract for the year then you need 5 letters from different
people with whom you worked) and 5 letters from managers, regional
managers, marketing/training directors or executives with reference to
your consultation, presentation skills or implementations skills.
- No documentation will be accepted that includes any
information relating to cost, fees and details of financial agreements
or compensation. This information must be omitted prior to submission.

Professional Consultant (PDF)
- To qualify as a corporate trainer you must have
given 12 presentations within a complete calendar year to
multifamily audiences of 10 or more, as a salaried position in multifamily
housing.
- 10 letters of recommendation from meeting planners, managers,
regional managers, or company executives, with reference to your presentation
skills or copy of event evaluations.
- Supporting documentation from your employer indicating
the professional training presentations that you have given, the size
of each audience, and the time frames in which the presentations were
given, is required. NMSA will provide “sample forms” to
help you complete this portion of the qualification process.

Corporate Trainer (PDF)
If you do not meet the qualifications for any of
the three membership categories, you may join the NMSA as an Apprentice.
This will allow you access to attend meetings, workshops and forum events.
This qualifies you to participate in our Mentor Program and build the
skills and experience necessary to qualify for full membership. Joining
the Apprenticeship category requires a $49.00 non-refundable
application fee, 10 letters of
recommendation from multifamily associates and $199.00 annual dues.
